Lovely kit, and really nice to build. Everything is pretty much a perfect fit apart from the one bit that sits in front of the canopy on the Spitfire, ( nothing that cant be sorted though with a little patience). The sprues are a little softer than other kits, but saying that its far easier to trim and sand this kit if required,The ten pots of paint are also really good , but there is the need to thin them a bit which will give a far superior finish.Great value if you want to make a couple of well finished planes.

Airfix have been a leading model company for decades and this set does them justice!Being a newer set, the wings are more stable than earlier models and it pays off in durability over time.The included set of paints are all you need but the set does not include any swastika designs, instead they are replaced with the black cross (as shown on packaging) although you can hand paint them.

Airfix is synonymous with the word quality. i try to stick to this make on its newer products but not its older models that have been reboxed (bad fitting with the need for copious amounts of filler) this kit is however very good and this is the one i am giving my opinion on.

Updated moulds for the spitfire and a new mould for the bf 109e kit both in 1/48 scaleParts are there to build both european and tropical versions although instructions only show 1 version for each.

The kits don’t have loads of detail but still good and I was pleased with the final finish. The only thing I really dislike was the stand flimsy and no instructions on how to put together

Bought this to build while in isolation. I haven’t built a kit since I was a boy, now 56, and had a great time with this kit. I will definitely buy another
