This is a favourite hobby of mine. I build 1/72 scale model aircraft flown by the RAF in World War II. This particular aircraft is the American-built Curtis P40 which was ordered by the RAF, and was used mainly in the North African desert campaign. The model was fairly easy to build with very clear instructions, and, as it came in the Starter Gift Set, it contained a tube of plastic cement, a paint brush, and 4 tubs of paint. A very pleasing kit.

This is one of the handsome new Airfix toolings and it shows, with good detail and very little flash. It is also decent of them to expend this expertise and the expense of cutting new moulds on one of their entry-level series 1 kits. The build has no particular vices and is impressive in its detail and the solidity of the end product. It certainly shows the way forward for the Airfix kits of the future.

The new tooling for this kit is great. I brought this for my son and we made the whole thing in about half an hour! Sometimes the smaller kits can be a bit ropey on quality but this is tooled really well, everything fits like the proverbial glove. For something like £6 - £8 you got a complete model with the paint, glue and brushes included, great value without skimping on quality. Nice one.

Airfix has done yet another great kit to build, the decals conformed to the panel lines after painting the kit. The parts jointed easily and I liked the option whether to have the plane with the landing gears down or up, which I think is a great option.Fully recommend the kit to beginners for a birthday gift, a Christmas gift or a gift for anyone for every occasion.

Very pleased with this particular kit, the parts fitted nicely with minimal sanding and filling! Altogether this was a very nice kit to build and I would recommend this to all skill groups, especially beginners!

This the third one of these delightful little models I have built. They are ideal for someone to get started too, only really requiring patience to get a good model out of it

This was very enjoyable to build having never done it before. Everything seems to be made of good quality plastic and it was delivered very quickly.

Great moulding fits together well. Paints provided are also decent. Nice easy starter model. Would recommend to anyone starting the hobby!

My first attempt at airfix for my son on ve day he loves it was hard work but the set was good and comes with everything you need
