The new management of Airfix is really pulling the stops out for modellers, this is one of a series of very good, affordable new aircraft kits.The model goes together well, although it's a little over-engineered in the nose area, with separate parts for the upper and lower cowl, for some reason, but elsewhere, fit is good and the final model looks like a P-40/Tomahawk. Some, but not much, filling and sanding is required, mainly around the nose.There's only one decal option, but more are available from after market sources. This model is better than the old Frog or Academy kits and a much easier build than the Pavla 'limited run' model, plus it's a lot cheaper: value!Thank you Airfix.

An excellent offering from Airfix of the famous warbird in 1/72nd scale. The model builds well with no need for filler in the wing roots and the over all fit is very good with no flash. The pilot figure may be slightly out of scale but I used it anyway. The cockpit instrument panel decal brings a fairly good cockpit to life with some sidewall detail in the mold. My one quibble is the lack of a gunsight but it is a minor one. Airfix's new tooling kits offer terrific detail at a very reasonable price.

These kits are fine for those who have done in past. Being a mother I remember brothers having a bad go but did not realise kit does not mean full kit I.e. paints and glue. Fell foul buying 2 kits for Christmas and cheap stocking filler became expensive mission to find correct colours.Worth looking for kits that are inclusive of everything including the brush for similar price.

I ordered this model because, although I have already got two later models of this aircraft (curiously two different aircraft from the same Western Desert based Royal Air Force squadron), I had to purchase this as it represents one of the most famous fighter squadrons of World War Two - Claire Chennault' s 'Flying Tigers'.

Excellent kit; the only shortcoming of which is the very limited choice (one) of aircraft ['Charles 'Chuck' Older's P-40B of the Far East-based American Volunteer Group (AVG)] that can be built from the kit as supplied; but I managed to get hold transfers for the Pearl Harbor based aircraft of George Welch & Ken Taylor.

A beautifully rendered model with exquisite detail for 1/72 scale. Which includes a cockpit that would be a credit to a 1/48th example. On top of all this it is an easy build.Just be aware the parts are well fixed to the spruce/runner and will need care when removing.

Get 2 as if 1st time modelling is being attempted the practibiltys of thin plastic and hard floors are tough to reconcile on 1st encounter, but a good start to a hobby or just a vast openening of a little persons imagination and knowledge. Good value and product.

Well airfix have done it again exelant kit very easy to build and still have a bit of history on the plane and the pilot ...... Will buy again you can get it cheaper but still well worth the price on there and you don't have to leave your house proper bonus

My headline is one if the questions I should write my review about apparently. Here goes .... I used this product as an umbrella which wasn't very useful as the box went soggy .....Opened it . Built it. Nice model .
