Okay, on opening the box, you're first drawn to the crispness of the moulding on this neat lil tank. Then you notice the seperate coloured painting and decal guide, not the usual Airfix b/w guide on the back of the instructions. Back to the parts. For a cheap little Airfix model, I honestly was amazed at the sharpness of the mouldings. All lines are nicely in relief and hardly any flash. The hull sides are double layered (see enclosed picture) and this is something I've never seen before on such a small kit. Then you have a look see through the instruction sheets and WOW! the extras. D-Day wading trunking on both the engine deck and loaders hatch and a Cullin hedgerow device.I have had in the past both Tamiya 1/35th and 1/48th versions of this tank, yet this Airfix kit surpasses those. And the tracks aren't the usual Airfix naff (sorry, Airfix) rubber bands. No, these are one piece moulded, which at first look to be a bit fiddly and difficult to put on, but actually they slip on very easily. Inner wheelrims first, then the track, then the outer rims. Easy-peasy. I think Airfix should drop their below par rubber tracks and do this on future models, the realism is unparalleled!Downside? Main criticism is that there are many small parts and these are joined to the sprues by quite chunky attachments, so a sharp craft knife and a good pair of cutters are crucial. But all in all, an excellent little kit, good VFM, plenty of options, crisp detail and truth be told a veritable gem of a kit, all in 1/76th scale. Airfix's best small tank kit? Unless someone proves better, the gauntlet has been thrown down...................

After enjoying the children's airfix kit I recieved one christmas a good while ago (one that was already painted and just snapped together), I've been meaning to get more. Now I'm 21 with nothing better to do, I thought I'd give it a shot. This was a great little model. Plenty of attention to detail and it looks great. There were a few bits and pieces that needed sanding down, but it was largely without hassle!Unfortunately, I had the idea that I could paint it afterwards successfully. Once it's fully glue together, you can only reach about 80% of the visible model. I especially recommend painting the wheels and tracks before gluing them on,and run a paint through the suspension before attaching the wheels themselves!Paint and glue aren't included, but I assume you all already knew that ;)

Probably the best Airfix armoured fighting vehicle at this scale. Much more detailed and accurate, with cleaner moulding for parts, than past Airfix kits. Nice optional bits, wading equipment for Normandy landings and hedge cutter presumably with slow progress through Normandy Bocage (farming country with many high hedgerows) country in mind..More like this coming hopefully. One of the major British tanks of WWII. Not one of the great deigns of the war, but certainly played its part. A low price as normal with Airfix and higher standards than previously.. Essential purchase for any modeller with an interest in WWII British tanks and AFVs.Airfix simplicity makes it suitable for starters and high enough quality for experienced discerning modellers.

This is a great buy, I'm 15, and haven't attempted an Airfix in years. Decided to try a tank after my failed plane attempts in the past, and I loved it. Great product, very nice look, good building instructions, add-on's and options. Even different decal options. Parts can be fiddly, you need a craft knife, some tweezers and a range of paint brushes, but after a few more models you get your money's worth out of the equipment. Wouldn't recommend if you're impatient, probably over 13. Couldn't see myself successfully making it any younger. A great product though, well worth the money.

Bought this as a comparison to the venerable Airfix Panther; reviewed accordingly. Straightforward build with no issues for me. I liked the development of the one piece tracks/wheels assembly, especially after the fight I had getting the Panther tracks to fit over the wheel assemblies. Was also good to have the optional extra of the exhaust wading extension or the Culin hedgerow cutter. Good detail, a bit wee, but then again, I've been used to 1.35 scale for some time now - !

Although the kit was a bit pricey, I would say it was worth it.The kit was highly detailed and is a great kit to younger modellers who are starting out as there are no rubber tracks like other kits, like the Revell kits and the Airfix vintage classic.I bought this kit simply because it was part of a diorama featuring the Airfix Bedford QLT and QLD trucks and the Revell Comet tank.A good kit for the younger modellers who are starting to experience the hobby!

Very little cleaning up needed as mould line were very light and flash none existent, injection moulded tracks are great with minimal clean up and being fitted last makes painting and weathering a joy. Just had to open the axle holes in the wheels slightly but this may have been due to paint and was not a problem. decals are very high standard and even fitted on the turret roof vent well by using Decasol and a new scalpel blade.Would I build another, YES!!

It’s 91 pieces in case you were wondering, the description does not say that. It’s got great detail but the size is what really gets me. It’s literally about 2.5 inches and 1 inch wide when assembled, about the exact size of a hot wheels or matchbox car. I guess it’s a 1:72 scale and not a 1:32 or 1:35 so I should have know but I really did not expect it to be so small. You will definitely need tweezers to put it together, the pieces are TINY.

Great model! The first I’ve done in about 20 years Really enjoyed building this. The detailing is great and clear instructions. Painted a bit darker cause I only had one green and added some sand mixed with pva glue to the tracks to simulate mud. Enjoyed chipping at the paint like it’s seen battle :)

Box was bigger than I expected, it is a Christmas gift so i was a little worried about the presentation size. So i was pleasantly surprised. Exactly what my friends boy wants so I'm pleased.

This is a very good kit of a tank to complete. My son loved putting it together and made him have a feeling of satisfaction. It is now on display in his bedroom. Got the brain working.
