I'm very impressed by this little, light weight - but by no means underpowered - vacuum, an upgrade on an older 12V version from AEG's CX7 series. This vacuum has a nice, neat little size. A small amount of assembly is required before first use, with the parts for a charging stand needing to be slotted together, and a flat head screwdriver (or the end of a dinner knife) being needed to install the top of the handle for the upright. The build quality is excellent. This is to be hoped, at the price point, but this feels much better made than my Mum's old GTech Air Ram, and is significantly lighter and easier to use. The vacuum charges fully in 4 hours, with a recommended 24 hour charge before first use,and from this you get up to 45 minutes run time. Indicator LEDs on the front of the handheld part show charging status. In use, there are bright white LEDs that illuminate the path in which this is vacuuming. There are two power settings, controlled by a switch on the upright handle, and simple on/off function on the detachable handheld unit. The vacuum comes with a short crevice tool and brush end for use with the handheld and there are two well-designed inbuilt storage places for these - one inside the charger base, where it is completely concealed by the docked vacuum, or you can slot the crevice tool into a slot on the back of the handle for the upright. This is one of the lightest and most manoeuvrable vacuums I have ever used. The improved power versus my old model adds 10 minutes longer run time from a charge, but doesn't make this any heavier - both machines are 2.46kg (a little under 5.5lbs). The combination of small size, light weight, and lack of cabling make this very easy to take up and down stairs. The vacuum has an extremely flexible head, the handle moves so that the vacuum will just about lie flat to either side or backwards, so this goes around and under furniture really easily. The detachable hand held section is very useful for jobs where an upright vacuum can't be used as easily, such as on counter tops, curtains, and for car cleaning - although because this is designed to fit inside a larger vacuum the suction nozzle is positioned towards the back of the unit and doesn't line up quite as naturally as those I've experienced on stand alone handheld vacuums.Overall, this is so light and easy to use, it's no effort at all to pick the vacuum up off its charger and whiz round the house quickly, and the small foot even fits on the steps of the stairs well enough to be able to give those a quick blitz. The vacuum has a neat, floor based charging stand. The entire vacuum is docked onto this to charge - making a cupboard with a power point in the ideal storage place. The dust compartment is quite small, so does need frequent emptying. The filters are easy to remove and clean, as they can be washed under the tap - but a spare set is useful, since these do have to be left to dry for 12 hours before they can be safely reinstalled. One of my favourite features on this vacuum is that it has an automatic roller unclogging facility for detangling long hair, threads etc. Just stand the vacuum on a hard floor, and press a pedal for a few seconds with the vacuum on and this cuts through hair, sewing thread, and knitting yarn strands without needing to take a pair of scissors to the brush roll (although this is detachable, and can be cleaned off with scissors should you end up with a larger tangle than the 'Brushrollclean' function can manage within 30 seconds).

Just as our last cordless vacuum gave up the ghost, so this one arrived to take its place. Our previous daily cleaner was a Vax Air Lift cordless, which was a different type of cordless vacuum, in that it attempts to provide a more traditional upright experience and power level with 2x inter-changeable batteries to give you longer stints of vacuuming. This 2-in-1 stick vacuum on the other hand is intended for more light-duty tasks. It is in essence a small handheld vacuum that slots into a larger frame so that it can provide some floor-cleaning ability. When your first get it out of the box you’ll notice that there is some assembly required and you need a screwdriver for it - I know, right? But it’s nothing dramatic, it’s just once simple screw in the back that you need to slot the top of the handle into. I imagine it wasn’t pre-attached in order for it to compact down into a smaller box size. Once that’s done, you need to put the two pieces of the charge base together, plug it into the wall, and then slot the cleaner onto it. There is a pulsating battery indicator on the front that shows that it is charging. It is hard to tell at-a-glance what level of charge it has, as it simply cycles from 1 to 3 lights as opposed to flashing just the level that it has reached - which I might have found more helpful. There are two power levels, the lower of which is fairly feeble but it can still pick up light debris and dust, and the brush bar rotates to aid pick up - you can’t disable the brush bar. This is the power level that you’re expected to use most of the time in order to get any kind of reasonable use out of it, as if you boost the level then it’s combination of extra suction power and faster motorised brush bar saps the fairly small battery pretty fast. There is a novel foot-operated button which you can press to help clean the brush bar when the bar is spinning - although I’m not sure how effective it is yet.The articulation of the floor head is good - which is something that I cannot stress enough. I’ve previously used a stick vacuum which had a head articulation that didn’t match the angle you steered at - making the process of manoeuvring quite tiresome. The dust container is maintained in the detachable handheld unit, and is fairly simple to empty - although perhaps the interactive parts could be more brightly indicated for those with some visible impairment as presently it is all fairly similarly shaded so might not be obvious to the uninitiated. For a price of c. £250 (at time of review) that does seem quite a lot for such a unit, but it is legitimately better than more budget priced alternatives that I have used. Whilst not aimed at the same audience as my old Vax cordless, it does provide a relative level of performance that is better than I was expecting.

I really like this AEG CX7-45BM Rechargeable Vacuum Cleaner and as I see it these are the pros and cons of this convertible, cordless cleaner -Pros- The unit can be used as an upright cleaner or a handheld unit, and detaching the handheld unit is easy, as is replacing it.- It's light (only 2.5Kg) and cordless with a decent battery life of around 35mins and a recharge time of around 3.5 hours. The Lithium cells should mean that there's no memory effect, you can use the unit even part charged plus, there's a clear LED charging indicator.- The suction is quite powerful and will pick up most debris.- The handle moves forwards, backwards and from side to side through very wide angles (180 degrees)making it easier to clean around furniture etc.- It comes with a handy charging stand which ensures it's always ready for use plus a crevice nozzle and dust brush.- The controls are intuitive and there are two speeds and both deliver decent suction for effective cleaning.- In upright mode, the carpet brush rotates as you push the unit along and is easy to clean.- The LED lights are really helpful in seeing where you are cleaning.- When in upright mode the cleaner is freestanding and doesn't fall over too easily.- The dust container is easy to empty and features an easy clean filter which you can wash and they last a long time before replacement is needed.- The brush unit is easy to clean and any threads etc. that get caught can be easily removed.- Filters are easy to remove and clean.Cons- The dust container is quite small at .5L but it's easy to empty.- The supplied tools are basic, only a dust brush and crevice tool stored in the spine of the charger are supplied. If you want more tools you can buy an accessory pack plus, there's a pet version available too.- Curiously, if you use the cleaner in handheld mode and then put the hand unit back into the upright handle the LED lights don't illuminate until you switch off and restart the cleaner.- The font in the instruction manual is very small and feint. In summary, despite a few small negative points, this AEG cleaner is really handy because if you keep it charging on its stand it's always ready for use. Also, being an upright model, I find the fact that you don't have to stoop to use it is a great plus, in use, it weighs so little making it ideal for stairs etc. with the added advantage of a detachable handheld unit when needed. I really like this cleaner as it's so thoughtfully designed plus it works well.

This AEG vacuum cleaner is easy to set up, straight out of the box (not too much packaging either!) The product needs a 24 hour charge before use and has a stand up docking station when not in use, instructions advise you keep it plugged in and charging when not in use. Feels easy to hold, but could prove difficult for the elderly and people suffering with arthritis in the hands - the handle is very shiny. Not too heavy and the vacuum propels itself forward when in use, the light is good too. Easy to manoeuvre around. Suction is good, it even copes with dog hair, the only downside is that it has a small chamber that needs to be emptied frequently. Emptying is a little difficult and requires manual removal of any stuck debris, like hair. Not ideal. This is ideal for small rooms or vacuuming the car but would not replace a regular vacuum cleaner sadly.

The biggest problem I found with this vacuum cleaner is that I can only give it five stars! It's absolutely brilliant, charges in about 35 minutes and lasts for quite a while. It is especially for per hair, apparently, and as I have three cats, I have it a good test. The main body of the cleaner tackled the downstairs and bedroom eadily, the hand held but was a bunch to clean the stairs (we live in an older property with awkward stairs) and there was enough charge to clean the car out. Then it all fitted nearly away on the stand. Btw, the brush was simple to clean and the vacuum itself was easy to empty. And it's lightweight. As a disabled person, I'm always looking for products that make life easier and this certainly did!I cannot recommend it enough.

This is one of the best battery powered vacuum cleaners that I have used.It is, quite simply superb. It is relatively lightweightI can vacuum the whole house on one chargeIt has very good suction, and the handheld cleaner that pops out is a clever idea for stairs etc.It is easy to emptyIf I had one criticism, I would like some more tools to go with the pop out handheld unit, but despite that tiny gripe, this is simply a superb well designed and well made vacuum with a long run time on a single charge.(I also like the headlight, which does seem to show where there is dust lurking on laminate floors.)

I really like this vac, it is well made performs well and even looks pretty cool. I’m no stranger to 2 in 1 vacs but this is far better than the Bissell item I had previously used which broke quite easily at the front (though the handheld part still works). This one just has an inherent sturdiness and quality to it to it and combined with a decent battery I can clean my house up and down on one charge (I don’t live in a mansion). Detaching the handheld part is dead easy and that makes light weight of the stairs and even emptying/cleaning is not hardship. All good so far.

This cordless hoover is lightweight, easy to assemble and easy to use. It's also easy to take off the handheld part and clean the corners and furniture. Cordless hoovers are definitely the way to go and this one is very nice to look at. The glowing lights are particularly cool. The only issue we have with this is that it was really fiddly to work out how to empty it. Apart from that it's flawless and very good at picking up dog hairs.

AEG produce a variety of these lightweight, quick-use cordless vacuum cleaners, and I've used one previously. I was impressed by how quickly this model fully charges and by how well it cleans. In a small house this could be the only vacuum cleaner you need, but somewhere bigger it's a handy device for smaller jobs where hauling out Henry just isn't worthwhile.

Great cordless hoovers that have good suction great manouverability and are lightweight. The capacity isnt huge so they do need emptying every time or two of use.The smaller pop out hoover is good for doing the stairs and other lightweight work where you dont want the bulk of the main unit
