I have never been more impressed and happy with a pair of trainers than these... thus why I am bothering to write this review. Comfortable, hard wearing and mostly waterproof. I say mostly because water ingress can occur at the ankle being that they are low cut. Go for the 5 inch high top version or a dedicated pair of hiking boots if maximum water protection is needed.I wear these mostly for casual or light trekking and apart from during a single prolonged heavy downpour for the above stated reason, they never failed to keep my feet dry. In summer hot months they can get a little too warm and though breathable, the gortex liner can make things get a bit sweaty but for most of the year they are perfect.Normally I have never needed to worry about wet feet while wearing these when it rains.My first pair are now in their death throws at 18 months , the outsoles are worn down to the underlayer in places but despite this they remain comfortable and are still fully waterproof with yet no direct holes to the inside of the shoe. The uppers still look fairly respectable given their hard use though have begun to crack at the sides where flexing occurs towards the front. The gortex liner remains intact. The inner soles are done but of course can be replaced easily if you are so inclined. For the last six months of their life they have been used extremely heavily, 50km+ a week minimum and they still keep going.I have already bought a second pair for £10 more than I initially bought the first pair but despite this I still feel they are exceptional value for money. I have had more expensive trainers fail spectacularly with less use in shorter time frames than these. I will continue to wear my first pair until the soles completely wear through just to see how long they can actually stand up to the abuse.In summary, the best trainers I have ever owned that can go from urban casual to light outdoor trekking with no problem at all.
