The housing and line are good quality and appear robust, as you would expect from Addis. The hook to secure the tightened line in place felt too flimsy for the job, so we used a metal cleat. The hook may well be sufficient, but given it's a fiddly affair, wrapping the tightened line and securing it, I didn't feel confident using the hook and it is extremely tricky to master. It's obviously personal preference, and it's designed to do the job. It was by far the best quality retractable line in its price range.

Installed and set up on a south facing wall. Had reservations that the plastic casing would split or discolour in the sun. However two years later still performing and looking as day one.Tip, the location holes are quite precise and need to be installed correctly. Drilling directly into a brick wall can be difficult to drill accurately. I first mounted a block of wood to the wall, then accurately fixed this unit to the wood adding the note "10kg Max" as a reminder for other family members.

I have used one of these washing lines before (in my old house) but left it there.. purchased a replacement for new house...Arrived pretty quickly.Seller sent as original box with address label stuck to outside with no additional bag/protection although the box was taped up to ensure no loss of contents... however royal mail decided that it was appropriate to put in kerbside food bin as I was not in when delivery arrived.

Easy to fit. Instructions OK, but don't tell you about securing the tension on the lug on the base of the unit.Downside, stress is put on the line at the same place where the line comes out of the unit, so in time it will wear & snap.This item will probably only last a couple of years with reasonable summer use, but for £10 it is cheap enough to buy another.Otherwise it "does what is says on the tin."

Happy with these retractable washing lines (I bought 2) no problems so far. I had read comments about the line slipping and people having to add a cleat below it to wrap the line around but I have not had this problem, I wrapped the line twice around the anchoring point as I did with the retractable lines I used in my previous property and they stay put.

The first line that was delivered simply didn't work but after a quick message and a simple replacement process the second one arrived and works a treat. It isn't very solid feeling but when up (and actually retracting!) it works fine. I'd say the build quality could be improved but overall it works well and is good value for money.

Purchased the same product the first one lasted about 12 months before the internal elastic cord snapped. But I liked it and it worked for our garden plus the holes were already up. Downside the predrilled holes on the unit were in a different place so needed to drill a 3rd hole in the wall to fit but works as expected.

We have moved to a brand new house and had to buy a new washing line. I hate to see washing line permanently hanging in our garden. This one allows just to use it and just release it from the hook when we have finished and it puts itself away. Only had it 4 months or so, so can't comment on durability.

It does well what it is supposed to do however, it can be difficult to ensure that the clothes line is taut enough for it is ready for wet clothes. It is hard to pull the line tightly enough through the cleat before 'tying' it off but apart from that I have no problem in recommending this product.

I have 2 in my garden and had them for about 5 years. Only replacing for the same one because someone dropped a plank on it. I don't expect it to have not damaged against that. I keep them up throughout the winter and have no problems with deteriation. Easy to retract and put up.

This is my second one, the first lasted 5 years and worked fine until the day it broke and it could probably have been fixed it was only the fastening clip on the end of the line. The price for 5 years is well worth it, it's easy to set up and it tucks away nicely.

I am very pleased with it. This is the third washing line I have bought, the other two were different makes. They lasted about 2 years each so I am very interested to see how long this one will last. It cost quite a bit more but will be well worth it if it lasts.

The mounting bracket has useful keyholes so you can take it on and off the screws. However be careful you tighten the screws sufficiently because the recoil can be strong enough to cause it to jump off. The line is a bit thin but doesn't stretch noticeably.

This was bought to replace an identical line that I had used for 10 years or so, mainly so I could use the same screws that hold it to the wall. Happily the base plate is still the same so it fitted well and works very well. Hope it lasts another 10 years!

Brilliant product. This is the second one I have purchased. The first has been very well worn and lasted for a few years. Out in all weathers it really has stood the test of time. I am extremely pleased with this washing line.
