The drive itself looks like it can "take" a little more punishment than the plastic kind. The cap can go on both ends of the stick, so hopefully I won't lose it.Now to the read/write test I performed: the read:speed In my USB 3.0 is right at 100 MB/second, very fast. However, I was somewhat disappointed in the write speed.being only 18 to 21.7 MB/seconds; the same write speed as when I place it in a USB 2.0 and the same speed as my USB 2.0 external HD and my 2.0 SanDisk Flash Drive gets. I copied and moved files that varied in sizes, from a gig to the very small. I copied and moved them at the same time and then also copied and move the gig sized file by itself, and that resulted in the highest speed of 21.7.I would have thought that the advertised 100MB/second read spead would result in a higher write speed, say 50MB. Upon purchasing the next 3.0 Flash Drive, I will make sure the write speed is listed as part of the description. The other thing you might want to consider, it is made of metal. My USB 3.0 card and my wireless antennas are right next to each other. I've always had 5 bars for my wireless; the USB 3.0 card shaved off three of the five bars and the ADATA Flash Drive knocked the remaining two bars down to 0. To get back online, I had to take the ADATA out of the 3,0.Now I need to buy the 3.0 front panel, so I have a place to plug it in that is further away from my wireless card. It's always somthin'

Not much else to say...great product. Very cool looking, perfect size (not too large, but substantial enough for great feel) and wow is 3.0 fast. When paired with my Samsung ATIV 9 Plus and new 3.0 Hart Drive, the speed incredible. Would recommend this product. I will update if there are any issues. Would have rec'd 5 stars if not for the cap; something feels "flimsy, plasticy ;) and cheap" to me when compared to the entire unit. The fitment is fine and everything is in order (easy on, stays on when you want it to, disconnects easily and sits flush with the actual USB drives metal casing). The rating is would actually be 4.5-4.7 stars from me, but that's not an option,so I rounded down in this case as it is not "perfect" but it is the best thumb drive I have purchased to date (I have had had all kinds of Kingstons, SanDisc ect).Aas an overall, day in day out drive, this is the one. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a "tiny/mini" drive as I have some SanDisc's that are smaller than a quarter and are just slightly thicker than the USB connection itself. BUT they are 2.0, sometimes have compatibility issues with car USB ports (new 2014 Caddy XTS as an example), not easy to use on a regular basis and don't hold a candle to the feel/finish of this item. Plus for the price point, this is a great buy!

I had been given one of these as a gift, and have given another as a gift later, now I am getting yet another one. These are really nice flash drives! They have a real solid build to them and feel nice with the extruded aluminum body. They aren’t too fat or tall like some drives and will not obscure other usb ports. The cap will clip on the end when in use so you don’t lose it.In regards to speed look elsewhere for benchmarks but it is quite fast let me assure you. Please keep in mind that flash memory transfers large single blocks the fastest so copying 6gb iso will be faster than 6gb of pictures. When copying a single or small file over USB3 like a word doc it is transferred so fast the windownever even pops up that tells you its copying which can be a bit difficult to tell if you actually did copy it or not, downside of the speed.I will admit that I did have one that did “go bad” acted real flakey and wouldn’t behave right or appear all the time. Went through ADATA support and tested it to find memory controller was bad or going bad, sent me a new one and sent my one back. Normally I would take away a star for that but I was treated well by the customer service and handled my issue quickly so ill still give them 5 stars

I primarily bought the ADATA Pro 64 GB to add memory to my XBOX 360. The flash drive passed the compatibility test by the XBOX 360 and has been used to transfer data from the hard drive as well as play games directly off of the drive itself. The titanium body of the flash drive seems very sturdy and well made. After formatting the flash drive for XBOX 360 use, I was also able to use the remaining 32 GB normally (i.e. for computer data storage/transfers).As a note, you may still only use 32GB worth of its storage capacity for XBOX 360 memory (this is a Microsoft limitation, not a limitation of the flash drive). As of March 2014, I have used the flash drive in the above ways for approximately two months.Should I find an issue down the line, I will try to update either in this review or in the comments section attached to it.

It's 2014. I've owned many flash drives thus far. To this point, this is my favorite of the lot. Tons of space, USB 3.0, durable exterior, and simple aesthetics push this flash drive to the top.I formatted the drive as exFAT. This format isn't perfect, but I use it primarily for cross-chatter between Linux, Windows, and OSX with the ability to store files larger than 4 GB. A downside to this compatibility is actually the lack of compatibility with older devices and operating systems. A PS3, for instance, can only read FAT32-format drives. This isn't an issue with the drive, per se, but I do recommend that you consider your applications and future uses with the drive when you first format it.Some things work best for Mac-to-Mac (e.g., HTFS+) whereas others work best for windows-to-windows (e.g., NTFS).

Its exactly as described, but it just feels a little more sturdy than I was expecting. I have had an 8gig plastic flash drive forever, but wanted a 3.0 device in a larger capacity without breaking the bank, and this was the drive I settled on. I couldnt be happier with it. I love this drive, and I really like the color, something my past drives havent had a choice in. I know there are bigger drives out there now, but I am still using this one, and it is still going strong with no need to replace it just yet. It does what I need it to, and is very reliable, not sure you could ask any more for a portable drive. As the prices continue to fall, this just keeps becoming an even better buy if you dont need massive amounts of storage.

*Was £23 for 64GB version*-Great build quality, plastic cap and back end but is mostly aluminium and it has a ridged shape/-Grey is more like black (see pictures)-- Speeds: Well I normally get about 20MB/s Write and 30MB/s Read, which is about 4x as fast as most flash drives around for write at least but is still very slow for what is should be HOWEVER I don't actually have any USB 3 ports to test it with and those speeds are close to the maximum (per port) USB 2 speeds so I will assume it is much faster until I can test it with something else (5 stars for now). Please click helpful if this was as it's why I wrote it :)

I got this for the sole purpose of expanding the storage on my Xbox 360. It works great for that. I haven't had any trouble running games off this drive. Just for reference, the games I have run off this drive that I can remember off the top of my head include XCOM: Enemy Within, The Walking Dead(Telltale) Season 1 & 2, Dishonored, and Assassin's Creed III.I know I had to do some research before landing on this drive, but I'm glad I picked it. If you were in the same boat as me, searching for the right drive to expand your 360 storage, you can safely pick this one!

This is my first review of an item not purchased through Amazon. (The egg company had a rebate that made it too attractive to ignore) Anyway, my 32GB ADATA S102 Pro flash drive has lasted two years of fairly heavy, daily usage without a hitch. Though the drive has slowly faded in color (from being carried in my pocket), transfer speeds have continued to meet or exceed the manufacturers claims of 90/25 MB/s. I am replacing the drive with a new one because the cap is tending to slip off in my pocket - and the write speeds of the 64GB model are twice as fast.

First, no ROHS product will get 5 stars from me. Lead free solder means a shortened life no matter what company makes it.Now, this is a fine solid product. The only aggravation you will ever have is keeping up with its cap. I get reliable 100 MB / sec read speeds and reliable 47 to 50 MB / sec write speeds. In its price range, it outclasses all other products and has a solid great looking metal case. Remember, my rating would be 5 star if they would manufacture it using real solder (63% tin / 37 % lead).

I bought this USB flash drive to expand storage for an Xbox. Drives at about the same pricepoint from sandisk were too slow and didn't meet the Xbox's performance standards. I know the Xbox doesn't use USB 3.0, but I hope that this drive will serve me for years and I'll be able to use it at a reasonable speed for other devices later on.In terms of performance with the Xbox, game saves and DLC content play just as well from it as they do from the Xbox's system drive.

I'm no connoisseur of portable flash drives, but this has worked consistently and speedily for the last few months. Other reviews bemoan how you can't put the cap on the back with a lanyard and other nonsense, but for the price, this is a durable and effective flash drive with no legitimate flaws, and easily competes with any other USB flash drive. It might not be as fast as the fastest, or as cheap as the cheapest, but is an excellent compromise between the two.

The large size and USB 3.0 throughput make this a great steam game external drive. I am a little worried with the cooling potential, but the metallic body should do the trick.I have tested symlinking several steam games to this drive and so far I have had no problems other than a longer load time compared to a true SSD.Throughput seems to be about 20Mbps-15Mbps for write operations. I have yet to measure read speeds, which should be significantly higher.

I've bought a whole bunch of these ADATA Superior Series flash drives in various capacities. A lot of flash drives will support USB3 but aren't actually fast enough to take advantage of it. These drives are properly speedy. I've used them as boot drives in a number of computers because they're so fast. The drive is also significantly more sturdy than most keychain drives, with a durable metal enclosure that feels like it could take some abuse.

I bought this to make a bootable drive for my Mac (to test the beta of Mavericks), reformatted it as Journaled, and it works like a charm. Since this drive is USB 3.0, that lets the Mac run at about 90% as fast as booting from the internal drive. For testing purposes, that's fine. If you're going to use it just as external storage and not boot from it, it will be plenty fast enough, as long as you connect it to a USB 3.0 port.
