Update: After tracking Acala customer services down via their website, I received a very helpful personal email explaining how to eliminate air from the filter along with some tips to maintain efficiency. If the filter slows down as I experience, it needs to be submerged in 6 inches plus of water to remove the air along with the sponge. Once refitted, push all the air out of the sponge with a kitchen spoon or similar. Hey presto, working well again and filtering in 5-10 minutes which I am happy with. Following this contact, I received an automated email with links to videos and tips explaining the same - which was great but a couple of weeks late! Top marks for good customer service and helping me get the filter working.

I was torn between buying a distiller and water jug with filter. I did a lot of research online and decided to opt for the acalaquell filter because it remineralises the water and takes some of the pollutants out. So what you get is fresh tasting water. I have to admit it took 1 day to get used to the taste. This is a quality product they include a CD of how to set up the system. The company also sends an email with a downloadable link for a book. I would have given it 5 stars but it is because of the sponge which if you fill water straight from the tap after the 3rd or 4th time traps air bubbles which restricts the flow of water.

I was sold by this product very early on but hesitated due to reports that filters rates are very slow and that it can stop completely, which then requires faffing with the sponge.Having used it for a week, I can say I am very happy with this filter. The filtered water - it is hard to believe its source is the kitchen tap! It tastes more like spring water - even removing the smell and taste of chlorine. I have had a few makes of water filters and none of them could achieve this.It does filter slower than most ... if not all due to the water having to travel through a dense sponge and then multiple layers of medium. It does slow right down - I put this down to air being trapped in the sponge due to water from the tap hitting the sponge when filling it up.

I bought this jug in August and have been enjoying superb quality water ever since. It is a great product made of BPA free plastic and filters everything that one can think of. I am very pleased with it and have recommended it to my friends.I am also most impressed with the customer service. The top container broke whilst I was changing the filter. It was most probably my fault for not following the correct technique. I contacted the company in hope that I can just buy a new jug having bought 3 filters recently. They replied very promptly and offered me a replacement free of charge and a DVD with instruction on how to change the filter. I am really, really impressed with the product and the customer service.

A very good water filter, although expensive compared to other brands I personally have found the water to be better filtered, the filter should last approximately 2 months (which is longer than most other brands) , the only con that I would say is that due to its high quality filtration that it takes longer for the water to pass through the filter, I have a 2 litre glass jug that I fill up from the Acalquell Swing Water Filter jug, this helps to ensure that I always have enough filtered water on hand and do not have to wait for the water it pass through the filter

The water from the jug tastes good. However, the jug construction is poor. The main problem is that if you try to pour out water before it has all filtered through to the bottom compartment you get unfiltered water coming in from the top compartment. This is not a problem with Brita jugs so shouldn't be here. However, it does not take long for the water to filter so you get used to this design fault. Also the cover for the spout broke off and the plastic surround to the bottom of the jug came away. Cartridges are also expensive to buy. Still, the water is good...

amazing...i bought this for my dog thro recommendations as hed always suffered runny eyes and couldnt handle our tap water within 3 days his eyes were dried no more tearing so impressed ive highly reccomended it on our dog group as alot of peoples pets are suffering from our tap water im not a big drinker of water but do taste the difference to in my coffee but deffo a huge thumbs up from my pooch thanx

Better than good, I've purchased two of these. You have to soak the white sponge in water for 1hr and then squeeze all the air out of it before moulding it into the top of the filter and although that was a hassle then end result is gob smackingly delish! I've purchased distillers in the past to remove chemicals and contaminants but this little babe does it all - great product.

OK. Filters water great but there are some design issues - water in the filter compartment has to be filtered completely before getting filtered water out else it will mix with the unfiltered one. Kind of frustrating cos no matter how you plan ahead and have lots of filtered water atimes you run out of it and need to drink water immediately as it is filtering

Excellent! Tastier than most bottled water, absolutely tastier than Brita. It makes a lot difference.In terms of jug design it could have been better I think as top compartment is open structure and you cant pour water when filtration is ongoing so you have to remove top tank, park, and put it back if you do not want to wait entire cycle.

I order this filter due to the fact that the water taste became awfull about two weeks ago. Very satisfied with the product. Water taste much smother and freshe. Time that it takes to filter is super fast, didn't expact that.Is it wourth your money? DefiantlyShould you buy it? YesNice seller, recommended!

It's a good filter and the water tastes good. The smell of chlorine seems to be completely gone. But I expected the taste would be more like bottled mineral water such as Evian or Highland Spring. Maybe I expected too much. But still, not bad and definitely better than plain tap water.

I found the water quality to be quite good. Overall the filtration cartridges work very well. It is better than Brita, but is it worth the price premium (x3)? Considering waters link to good health...having a supply of high quality filtered water seems to be wise investment.

Water quality is great although it does take quite a while to filter the water (because of the 1 micron filter). If the water has not fully drained from the reservoir it can mix with the filtered water when pouring. A small modification to the reservoir could overcome this.

My tap water never tasted so good. The water produced is very smooth and easy to drink with none of the after taste that tap water normally gives you. As i am diabetic this is encouraging me to drink more healthy water most of the time. Highly recommended.
