I would recommend this as something that an 8+ year old child could do with an adult. There is insufficient paper for making mistakes but the instructions are quite easy to follow even if the shapes can be fiddly.I made the shapes myself and really enjoyed my afternoon. I would however say that the paper is quite thick compared to usual origami paper, making the "inflated" shapes based on the water bomb shape very difficult to do without first creasing all the folds both ways to slightly weaken the paper. The shapes are attached using double sided tape which is actually a bit difficult at times.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas, we found it in the bottom of her toy box a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a go. It took us all afternoon but we had loads of fun, she couldn't do it alone but as you make two of each origami shape we did them in tandem with me explaining the instructions as we went, granted the finished results weren't perfect but it looks gorgeous strung above her bed and she's so proud of herself for doing it.I'd definitely recommend this kit but be prepared to spend a couple of hours on it,

With my help, my 7year old was able to make a lovely string of lights. We worked together as the instructions were too complicated for her alone. There was paper for two of each lamp shade so I could fold one while she copied each move. There were even some spare pieces of paper in case things go wrong. A pleasant afternoon with an attractive string of lights to keep at the end.

Purchased this as a Xmas present for my 8 year old granddaughter, who has recently been introduced origami.Initially she found some of the folds described as a bit confusing but once she got going, and some help from mum, all was well.Now finished, the light string looks very good hanging in her room.

Purchased as a gift for my friend to keep her busy during lockdown. She has started making some of the origami pieces for the fairy lights, the instructions are good and the pieces she has made look lovely. Good product, I recommend as a gift for any age!

Bought these for a birthday party gift and they went down really well. Think I will be having to get some more as my girls didn't want to give them away when they saw them!

My neice loved making this, it can be a bit difficult for little ones but it great fun! this is now displayed over her bed at home :)

Bought for my Japanese nieces who love origami and they were thrilled. Made them all within the hour and v pleased with themselves.
